"Scott was an excellent tour guide, SO knowledgeable about birds, sea life, geology, cultural history and more. Got some great views of a variety of wildlife (birds, goats, whale, sea otters) and beautiful Kachemak Bay. A bonus was the demo of his Citizen Science project with phytoplankton. Such a kind, personable and caring man. We were lucky to also have his wife along who is an amazing birder! Highly recommend Tutka Tours for an informative overview of the area."

"Tutka Tours took us on a guided tour to the bird rookery in Kachemak Bay. The nice captain Scott shared his knowledge of the birds and marine life and interesting facts about the bay and the boat harbor. He had sound amplifying equipment allowing us to listen to distinct bird noises and excellent binoculars for each guest to bring the birds up close. The catamaran ride was smooth and he reviewed boat procedures making me feel safe. Overall it was an excellent experience and I would book any of his tours in the future!"

"My family and I had the privilege of embarking on a 4-hour tour of Kachemak Bay with Scott. As someone who grew up in Homer and served as a deckhand in Kachemak Bay, I thought I knew the waters inside and out. Yet, during our journey with Scott, I found myself immersed in a treasure trove of new insights about the Bay. This tour provided the perfect setting for family bonding, especially introducing the natural beauty of our 'backyard' to relatives visiting from afar. Scott's vessel was the epitome of comfort, accommodating all weather conditions. Its fly cover on the back deck ensured we could continue to revel in the outdoors, capturing photographs without the hindrance of rain. Scott himself was the perfect host: friendly, gracious, and profoundly knowledgeable about Kachemak Bay's nuances. Whether you're a local or a first-time visitor, and especially if you're keen on showcasing the wonders of Kachemak Bay to someone special, I wholeheartedly recommend this tour with Scott."

"When we arrived in Homer we stopped at the visitor center and expressed our interest in a boat tour. The guide there recommended Tutka Tours. After arriving at our campsite on the Spit my wife called and booked a 4-hour tour with Scott for July 12. Right away we knew we had the right skipper — his interest in birds meshed with ours. Unfortunately, fog caused a one-day postponement. However, that morning while we were hiking a few miles away, my wife received a call from Scott — the fog had lifted and he was excited to share the birdlife at “Gull Island” so he was inviting us to a 1-hour quick tour in the afternoon — no charge! We jumped on the opportunity! Between the 1- and 4-hour tours, we could not have asked for a better guide. Scott is such a warehouse of knowledge, providing us with so many interesting facts on local culture, geography, geology, and wildlife, especially birds. The 4-hour tour took us to so many special places along Kachemak Bay, and birdlife was abundant. We also saw an otter raft for the first time. We highly recommend Scott and Tutka Tours."
